Little Owls Preschool is situated in the small rural village of Boxted,
a few miles north of Colchester. We are very fortunate to have sole use of a purpose designed building on the village playing field, and have a very open outdoor space right outside our building.The children can enjoy the quiet, rural setting, exploring the outdoor environment which is literally on our doorstep. Our secure garden has a natural feel to it, with trees and surrounding hedgerow. We grow vegetables during the spring and summer and are developing a 'wild' area for the children to explore. The children have access to the garden throughout the session and can enjoy playing with a wide variety of equipment, as well as exploring the natural world in a safe environment. We regularly walk across the playing field to the village play area, so that the children can use the larger adventurous play area.
We have close links with Boxted St Peters Primary School and have regular visits from the reception teacher.
Boxted is only 10 minutes from Highwoods, Myland and Mile End and we welcome children and families from these areas and neighbouring villages, as well as from Boxted itself.
